The downtown chapter meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Lifted Spirits (1734 Cherry St, Kansas City, MO 64108) until a core group of 10 members is established.  We’re looking for people who enjoy all types, or are at least looking to try, all types of whiskey/whisky.  If you're interested, please reach out to the chapter lead or one of the chapter members and let’s make it happen.   As we continue to build the chapter, we may change things up a bit, but we’ll be sure to post changes to schedule or venue as soon as possible. 

At the end of the day it’s not just about the whiskey.  Our chapter’s goal is to create an diverse, friendly environment where we can celebrate and learn from variances in styles, tastes and opinions.  The essence of our chapter can be  summed up in a few words - “There is no bad whiskey. There are only some whiskeys that aren’t as good as others.”

The chapter will typically open with a meet and greet until a majority of attending members are present.  Each member that has brought a bottle will introduce their whiskey and talk about some of the basics to rouse discussion (where to find, backstory, mash-bill, whiskey of choice etc...).  We will also have a flavor wheel on hand and a few extra glencairn glasses in case you need some assistance tasting/smelling or just want to hone your tasting skills.
